David Dennis sets the energy and IT management bar within the Marketing team at GroundWork Open Source. Often found doing technical research, speaking to customers and writing great articles, David keeps the corporation and product development news in the mainstream. David often says his positive energy is from open source. Becoming a believer a few years ago working for other open source startups — he is now one of the biggest advocates for open source replacing and commoditizing proprietary solutions. You can find David in mainstream media, webcasts, blogs and on twitter espousing his beliefs and factoids.
David manages the daily marketing activities in marketing as well as spearheads the awareness program to keep open source IT Management a mainstream topic. Often David can be found quoting David Ricardo's Theory of Comparative Advantage, which he sees as a good model for open source usage and resource optimization. He also manages by this creed, and the team enjoys this environment.
Previous to GroundWork, David was director of marketing at startups Levanta and Centrata. Previously he held technical marketing roles at Symantec, HP and Mercury Interactive. David attained his MBA from UCLA and achieved his BS from Stanford University.
