Roger Ruttimann has been a long-standing development figure at GroundWork Open Source, joining the team early in 2004. His desires were to develop for an organization that addresses enterprise business IT management needs by delivering best-in-class open source software.
Roger focuses his team's efforts around productizing and integrating niche, open source software and repackaging it into an easy to deploy and easy to use bundled solution. Roger cares about community contributions and ensures the open source projects are enterprise-ready. His team delivers a high quality product for the GroundWork Monitor user base and returns these improvements back to the open source projects that originated the innovations.
Because of Roger's contributions, many open source projects have received additional code functionality, security and scalability improvements that the GroundWork team built. He is a naturally empowering manager that keeps his team focused on the engineering goals and encourages creativity.
Roger offers over 17 years of engineering and development experience for large organizations such as Autodesk Europe and Advent Software. He is also an active member and contributor to the Apache Foundation Portals Project. He graduated from Ecole Technique in Neuchatel in Electronics and has a Master's degree In Computer Science from the Swiss Universities Association.
