Tara Spalding believes that open source has the most rapid innovation rate for software because she knows first hand the power of how community will out-perform any isolated group. Hooked on website design and the power of social media, Tara brings a consumer approach to product introduction, acquisition, implementation and user retention.

Tara brings over a decade of branding and online marketing experience to GroundWork Open Source and is known as one of the first commercial open source marketing pioneers for applications. Tara's team focuses on the awareness, education, purchasing, and retention for GroundWork Monitor. Her product management team also closely works with the amalgamated open source projects to ensure roadmap cohesion and joint community innovations.

GroundWork's newly deployed marketing techniques include single sign-on with OpenID throughout all of GroundWork's websites, leveraging several web 2.0 techniques for messaging propagation, a scalable web-based communication process based on profile and interests, and the launch of viral campaigns that get talked about.

Previously Tara was the vice president of corporate marketing at SugarCRM and was their first employee. Tara has also held marketing leadership roles at E.piphany, Edify and E&J; Gallo Winery. Tara attained her BS In Business Administration from University of Colorado, Boulder.
