Component/s: Plugins
Affects Version/s: 5.3 Beta
Fix Version/s: None

Time Tracking:
Not Specified

Environment: Centos 5.2 x64 (fully patched as at today's date)

 Description  « Hide
When launcing check_nrpe get following errors

"./check_nrpe: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.0.9.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
"./check_nrpe: error while loading shared libraries: libcrypto.so.0.9.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

Correct library versions are installed in /usr/local/groundwork/common/lib though Centos install is v 0.9.8b

Workaround was link in /lib64 to files in groundwork install

Installed Groundwprk version is 2009-01-02@21:44 - br33 - gw268

Executed the following on 172.28.113.157(RH5 64 bit) and 172.28.113.162(Centos 32 bit).

The following error was observed as the plugin was executed as user root. It must be executed as user nagios.

[root@olten RC6]# /usr/local/groundwork/nagios/libexec/check_nrpe -H 172.28.112.231

/usr/local/groundwork/nagios/libexec/check_nrpe: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.0.9.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

As user nagios, plugin executes successfully.
[nagios@olten ~]$ /usr/local/groundwork/nagios/libexec/check_nrpe -H 172.28.112.231
NRPE_NT v0.8b/2.0

Therefore the plugin should be always executed with nagios permissions and not root.
