How to install open source Grafana panels

Overview

Panel plugins allow new data visualizations to be added to Grafana, for both time series and non-time series data.

GroundWork Grafana includes a selection of open source panels. To install additional panels from grafana.net/plugins, follow the installation instructions for each panel. Typically these instructions require the use of grafana-cli and then a restart of Grafana.

Steps

Using the grafana-worldmap-panel as an example, these steps in GroundWork Grafana are as follows:

  1. Install the panel plugin with the following command: 
    /usr/local/groundwork/grafana/bin/grafana-cli plugins install grafana-worldmap-panel
  2. Restart GroundWork Grafana: 
    /etc/init.d/groundwork restart grafana
