GroundWork Open Source, Inc. ("GW") recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of all information provided by users of our websites, registrants, subscribers and customers of our products and services. This Privacy Statement describes GW practices regarding the use and disclosure of personal information collected by or submitted to GW on groundworkopensource.com and support.groundworkopensource.com. "Personal information" means data attributed to a specific individual.
GW collects personal information online in a number of ways. These include account registration, support requests, webinars, downloads, surveys, evaluations, comments or inquiries. GW also collects personal information by telephone, mail and at conventions, seminars, trade shows and exhibitions. The personal information GW collects may include without limitation, your first and last name, title, company name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, IP address, username and password.
For GW offerings that require payment (such as certain events, products and subscriptions), GW collects credit card information (such as account name, card type, card number and expiration date), which is used for billing purposes by GW or GW's agent only, and is not otherwise shared. Independent auditors may from time to time certify GW subscriber data using unique identifiers GW discloses to the auditors strictly for industry reporting and audit verification purposes. The website may provide interactive and community features such as discussion boards, webcasts and user profiles where GW may log your IP address when you participate.
GW may use cookies --- small records stored on your computer hard drive showing which pages on our site you visited. You can configure your web browser to disable our ability to set cookies. You can still visit the GW website but your access to secure areas of the GW website requires activation of per-session cookies.
GW uses personal information to manage accounts, register visitors in programs, answer questions, send information and to generally understand the needs, interests and preferences of GW customers and website visitors. The website is not directed to children under the age of thirteen and GW does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen. If GW becomes aware of personally identifiable information from a user under the age of thirteen, GW immediately deletes that information from GW records. Unless otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, GW will not share without a your assent your personal information outside of our business except to fill orders, process payments, deliver service, conduct research or to comply with court orders and regulations. GW reserves the right to share personal information consequent to a merger, acquisition, or divestiture of our business, and with the affiliates of GroundWork Exchange.
To serve you better, GW may send updates that contain pertinent information about your status and our products and services. For example, GW verifies your creation and changes to password and usernames for our password-protected products and services. GW may also communicate with you through e-mail, phone or regular mail when delivering requested services and for account-related matters. From time to time GW may offer the option to receive information about our company, related products, services and promotions. Any email sent to an "opt-in" list will include directions for how a user may remove himself or herself from the list or a URL where the user may find such directions. You may easily elect not to receive these communications from GW. T

The GW website may also link to Internet sites over which we have no control. GW recommends that you use discretion when disclosing your personal information in those areas.
Beginning on January 1, 2005, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits those users that are California residents to request that GW not share their personal information with affiliates of GroundWork Exchange for direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, email GW at: [email protected].
