Benchmarking today’s IT monitoring standards

May 5, 2008 - 6:08 pm

It is well understood that IT service management has completely different meanings to companies based on the industry that they are in and the type of customer they are servicing. Each industry has different expectations on service level provisions for equipment, networks and applications that are well understood within their organization.

These service benchmarks are important to GroundWork Open Source to comprehend as it helps us provide the right monitoring and management tools and plug-ins for managing your IT network. Companies of all sizes monitor their network systems, but some performance metrics are more important than others – which are often the result of the business drivers, customer services or the company’s competitive advantage.

GroundWork Open Source would like your help in understanding what your IT monitoring expectations are. We have launched an anonymous survey (although if you choose to enter the prize drawing, we’ll need some contact info at the end) that takes less than 20 minutes to complete which captures your company profile and your monitoring utilization to help us better understand your monitoring expectations.

For your opinion and time, you will be entered to win one of three prizes (up to $200 in Amazon gift certificates or a GroundWork training session)

After the survey is completed, we will aggregate the data and do segmented analysis based on company size and type, geography and deployment size. We’ll make this report available to you so that you can use the survey information as a benchmark to compare your internal performance.

Please click here to complete the survey – and thank you for participating.

Revisit the GroundWork blog at the end of May for some insights gathered from the monitoring community!
