GroundWork offers downloads of IT monitoring-related enhancements and improvements we’ve contributed back to the Open Source community. GroundWork offers the following extensions to improve the monitoring coverage of your installation and to integrate with other IT management tools. We’re pleased to be able to contribute back to the Open Source community.

Ganglia Integration Module

The Ganglia integration module allows measurements and data from an existing Ganglia installation to be fed into a GroundWork system. This enables GroundWork users to treat Ganglia as another source of IT management data, allowing your existing processes and procedures to include grid and cluster management. GroundWork Monitor can provide notifications and reports based on data from the Ganglia system, improving the utilization and health of your grid or cluster.

WMI Plug-ins

These plug-ins enable GroundWork Monitor to retrieve availability and performance data from Windows Servers and Workstations without installing agents. Data is retrieved using the native Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) mechanism and the Nagios®* Remote Plug-in Executer (NRPE_NT.)

All Windows performance information is available via these plug-ins including hardware health Operating System and system resource usage, and application statistics. Examples of monitoring CPU and memory utilization and MS SQL Server transaction count are included.

HP Operations Manager (OpenView Operations)

This extension forwards events from GroundWork Monitor to HP Operations Manager, formerly OpenView Operations. This extension allows monitoring data collected by GroundWork to be processed and filtered by Operations Manager.

NSCAFE

NSCAFE (Nagios Service Check Acceptor Forwarding Engine) is a message forwarding engine useful for scaling GroundWork Monitor installations. It provides store-and-forward of monitoring messages with queued messages stored on disk. It is a drop-in replacement for the Nagios-provided NSCA tool.
