New offering delivers features of GroundWork Monitor Professional at lower price for smaller environments

SAN FRANCISCO, CA—April 30, 2009—GroundWork Open Source, Inc. (www.groundworkopensource.com), the leader in commercial open source systems and network management software, today announced the availability of GroundWork Monitor Starter Edition, available online via the GroundWork Exchange (http://www.groundworkopensource.com/exchange/starter-edition).

Specifically designed for smaller environments, GroundWork Monitor Starter Edition is a low-cost addition to the Monitor line; ideal for smaller deployments and evaluations up to 250 monitored devices. Based on GroundWork Monitor Professional 5.3, Starter Edition provides the same core features and a cost-effective way to gain additional capabilities beyond GroundWork Monitor Community Edition, such as dashboards, advanced reports, best-practice profiles, NOC console and support.

“Forty-five percent of surveyed GroundWork Monitor Community Edition users said they would be interested in a subscription offering at a lower price point,” said David Dennis, Senior Director of Marketing, GroundWork Open Source. “Additionally, 75 percent of those surveyed are using GroundWork Monitor Community Edition in environments with less than 300 nodes. We’ve responded to this feedback; Starter Edition is perfect for those in smaller environments or with tight budgets who still need a full-featured, commercially supported product.”
