Vote for Your Open Source Idol

August 5, 2008 - 6:50 am

This week, like many other open source companies, GroundWork has been busy getting ready for LinuxWorld San Francisco. The tchotchkes have been ordered, the booth is built and the signs are all hung, but there’s still one thing left to decide…who will be this year’s Open Source Idol!?

Tux, the Linux kernel penguin, has long been the reigning champion among mascots in the open source world, but this year it won’t be so easy. Three hungry competitors are rising up to throw down with Tux: “Beastie” the BSD demon, Mozilla’s Firefox, and the GNU gnu.

Can Tux keep the title, or will there be a new Open Source Idol?

Only you can decide – drop by GroundWork’s booth #501 at LinuxWorld or vote online before 11:59 PM PDT on Thursday, August 7. You can also tune in to watch footage (link coming soon) from the floor at LinuxWorld as people weigh in on “Who’s The Next Open Source Idol?”
