LAMP-Stack Engineer

Contract Position

GroundWork Open Source is looking to immediately enlist the services of a solid LAMP stack web applications engineer. This is a contract position for an estimated 100-150 hours, to complete several projects, which are due by mid-October. Candidate will work remotely but must be able to communicate statuses and milestones effectively and frequently. Applicants should be available to start as early as Monday, September 29.

The Ideal Candidate:

You are an experienced web geek with a solid LAMP background (five years or more unless you can prove you’re a whiz-kid).

You are not a maverick coder and you don’t mind explaining why you’re doing something. You write clean, streamlined, well-commented code. Other developers can decipher your code and work with it, easily.

You follow standards and understand how and why we separate content and presentation layers.

You have written plenty of web applications and you’re able to work quickly off wireframes rather than laboring over painful specs.

Skills Required:

• PHP3
• CSS
• BASH
• MySQL
• Ability to code to a wireframe

Preferred Skills:

• AJAX
• PHP frameworks
• Loopfuse
• CRM, preferably SalesForce.com
• Layout/Design (PhotoShop, GIMP, etc)
• Website survey design
