GroundWork Open Source Solutions Taps Phil Bradley as Vice President of Sales
Open source IT management software provider appoints industry veteran to lead sales effort
Emeryville, CA — March 3, 2005 — GroundWork Open Source Solutions, Inc., a leader in open source-based IT management solutions, announced that it has named Phil Bradley as Vice President of Sales. With more than 20 years of sales and management experience, Bradley will execute GroundWork’s sales and indirect channel strategy and build out the sales force for the company’s open source IT monitoring and management products and related services.
Most recently, Bradley served as Vice President of Sales with nCircle, a provider of vulnerability management solutions, where he grew revenue by 200%. Previously, he was Vice President of Sales for Inktomi responsible for developing its Enterprise Search Business. Bradley has also held senior sales positions with Documentum, Odesta Systems and Wang Laboratories.
GroundWork provides open source products that enable enterprises to monitor their network and application infrastructures at a fraction of the cost of commercial software alternatives. GroundWork Monitor, the company’s flagship product, transforms unsupported open source software into an enterprise IT management solution by adding functional enhancements as well as deployment services and ongoing support. Over the past year, GroundWork signed 26 new customers for GroundWork Monitor from a range of industries, including financial services, biotech, manufacturing, entertainment and government.
“The challenges of today’s commercial IT management solutions are well understood. High costs, inflexible commercial tools, long deployment cycles, vendor lock-in. And the list goes on. Open source represents a better way not only because it cuts costs by as much as 80%, but also because an open architecture actually solves the inflexibility and integration problems,” said Phil Bradley, vice president of sales for GroundWork. “I’m excited to be leading the sales effort for GroundWork at a time when the industry is on the cusp of such dramatic change.”
“We’re excited to have Phil join our team. Phil has a proven track record of building successful sales organizations and developing effective direct and indirect sales programs. The experience he brings will greatly enhance GroundWork’s ability to bring open source IT management in to the mainstream,” said Robert Fanini, CEO of GroundWork.
