New Flex & Quickstart Pricing

SAN FRANCISCO, CA—October 8, 2009—GroundWork Open Source, Inc. (GWOS, http://www.gwos.com), the leader in commercial open source systems and network management software, today launched the new Enterprise Quickstart, offering GroundWork Monitor Enterprise to small environments for only $49.

For environments with up to 100 devices, Enterprise Quickstart offers all of the following at a flat rate of $49/year:

• A full-featured copy of GroundWork Monitor Enterprise.
• License to use the software for one year to monitor up to 100 devices.
• One seat in the “Getting Started with GroundWork Monitor” training.
• Email support incidents, up to 60 days from first registration (support incidents require that training be completed).

In addition to the Quickstart program, GWOS announced its new Flex Pricing, offering a wider range of price points and support options for customers of all sizes. “In a similarly disruptive fashion,” continued Spalding, “our new Flex Pricing is based upon requests from the field to provide more options and easier apples-to-apples comparisons against the annual maintenance costs of ‘Big 4’ monitoring products from HP, IBM, BMC and CA. The average Big 4 monitoring product charges about $100 per year, per device, in annual maintenance at standard support levels (excluding any initial license fees). By comparison, the equivalent Flex pricing offers a 50 percent annual savings.”

GWOS has simplified its core subscription pricing to allow for a wider range of choices for various needs and budgets, as well as switching to a per-device structure that makes it easier to compare GroundWork Monitor Enterprise’s cost savings to other products that use a similar scheme.

Flex pricing is based on an annual term software license and support bundle. It includes support for the entire solution stack, software updates and new versions, and usage license with unlimited user seats for the subscription duration. Pricing is based on the total number of devices being monitored, with a minimum of 100 devices.

Flex pricing ranges from $40 - $95 (€35 - €85) per monitored device, per year with support options ranging from email only, to 24x7, named support contact and quarterly account review.
