Monitoring Java Enviroments
- Using GroundWork Monitor Enterprise in Java environments boosts productivity and availability by:
- Providing the operations team with key application metrics alongside other critical infrastructure health measures related to storage, I/O, network health and application response time.
- Providing developers with precise and timely application data via their JMX MBeans and overall Java Virtual machine health.
Groundwork Monitor Enterprise includes pure Java discovery and monitoring that enables you to:
- Discover all the Java monitoring attributes available in your environment – application attributes, application server attributes and virtual machine attributes are all supported.
- Select the metrics important to your operations; typically a small fraction of the hundreds of available measurements are needed for efficient operations.
- Standardize your monitoring approach across your application clusters and data-centers by applying uniform monitoring profile.
GroundWork Monitor unifies all gathered information into a coherent view, enabling your Java application performance to be displayed, graphed, summarized and reported using the same tools as the rest of your infrastructure. Features such as the new visual Views application enable a high-level view of operations with the ability to drill-deep when needed.
- How it works
- The GroundWork Agent for Java is a 100% pure Java solution that runs within your application servers. It bridges JMX metrics to the GroundWork Monitor Enterprise server and enables dashboards, notifications and reports across technology and geographic silos.
- The GroundWork Agent returns metrics to a central GroundWork Monitor Enterprise server. All communication is initiated by the agent; connectivity from the central server to the application server is not required for day-to-day operations.
