Join Arul Shanmugam, Senior Software Engineer at GWOS for a demonstration and discussion of best practices for monitoring Java applications. Utilizing the new Java-agent included in release 6.2 Arul will demonstrate deep Java application monitoring including visualizing application response times, database pool utilization, and connection states. In addition, Arul will demonstrate data collection of custom application metrics using the MBean/JMX facilities. The demonstration will be completed using the IBM Websphere however these best practices and approaches are also directly applicable to other products including RedHat's JBoss and tomcat.
