Nagios®* Creator Ethan Galstad to present on Wednesday at GroundWork Open Source Headquarters
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.—April 8, 2008—GroundWork Open Source, Inc. (www.groundworkopensource.com), the leader in commercial open source systems and network management software, announced that Ethan Galstad, creator and lead developer for Nagios, will present at this week’s BayLISA Monitoring SIG at GroundWork’s headquarters in San Francisco. On Wednesday, April 9, at 7:00 p.m. PDT, Galstad will provide exclusive insight into the new features and functionality of the recently released Nagios 3.0.
Nagios - an open source host, service and network monitoring program - released version 3.0 last month with special focus on faster startup times, performance improvements and enhanced scalability for larger installs.
“Nagios 3.0 is an exciting next step for the Nagios project,” said Galstad. “These enhancements are something that I have been wanting to do for many years and thanks to the community Nagios has reached a new level for larger deployments. On Wednesday, I’ll talk about IT monitoring issues to watch out for, new tools and diving into what the future holds for Nagios users.”
“GroundWork and Nagios have been working in partnership for more than four years and we will continue to work together to provide enterprises with monitoring tools that have the scalability and security to meet the IT needs of major enterprises,” said Dave Lilly, co-founder and CEO of GroundWork. “GroundWork users should expect the integration of Nagios 3.0 into GroundWork Monitor later this year.”
GroundWork includes Nagios with its entire product family from the freely available GroundWork Monitor Community Edition through the recently announced GroundWork Monitor Enterprise. GroundWork Monitor also integrates with other leading open source IT management tools, such as Ganglia, Cacti, NeDI, and more.
