New Distribution Channel Further Validates Open Source Traction
Red Hat Summit, San Diego, CA — May 10, 2007 — GroundWork Open Source, Inc. (www.groundworkopensource.com), the leader in open source IT Management, today announced that GroundWork's systems and network management software has been selected by Red Hat as a pioneering open source application to be offered on Red Hat Exchange.
Red Hat Exchange (RHX) helps organizations compare, buy, and manage open source business applications from one trusted location. All applications on RHX, including GroundWork Monitor for RHX, are validated to run on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, delivered through Red Hat Network, and supported by Red Hat.
"The invitation from Red Hat to be a part of RHX further validates our leadership in the open source IT management category," said Ranga Rangachari, CEO of GroundWork Open Source. "Given Red Hat's leadership with Linux, I believe what Mike Evans, VP of corporate development at Red Hat said earlier - 'with RHX, Red Hat is in a position to become the Amazon of open source software'- and it is truly exciting to be part of that wave."
GroundWork unifies proven open source projects to deliver enterprise-class IT management software at a fraction of the cost of proprietary solutions, including HP OpenView. Offering the widest range of support for operating systems, applications, and networked devices, organizations can leverage the flexibility of open source tools to achieve enterprise-level availability, performance and operational efficiency.
"We are thrilled to offer GroundWork's leading open source IT management software on Red Hat Exchange, available today," said Donald Fischer, Vice President of Online Services at Red Hat.
